Soft Shoulder and the idea of Soft Shoulder have been sort of been a mythical blur for me ever since I moved to the Tempe/Phoenix area. For one reason or another I just can’t ever get to a show on time to see them, and if I do see them I catch their last jam and usually find myself wanting more. The band has been around in the valley for quite sometime and everyone seems to like them.
Recently my brother let me borrow their new tape “Von Guts” and I can see why people are into this band. While the cassette is a lot more like a 7in with each side running roughly 5 minutes you get just enough to leave you wanting more. I felt almost annoying, I just kept flipping this one over and over. While I am naive to punk as a genre I like this release and want to hear more.
